Marching for LGBTQIA+ rights Ntandoyenkosi… Sat, 10/25/2025 - 15:48 JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg is celebrating the 36th anniversary of Pride, Africa’s longest-running LGBTQIA+ celebration. eNCA s Naomi Kobbie spoke to members of the community marching in support of LGBTQI+ rights. Some say they’re walking for those still struggling to come out, while others say pride is about visibility, acceptance, and love. I m here today to walk with those that are still struggling with their faith. I want to say, it s okay to be queer, and it s okay to be questioning. I m also here in solidarity for those that haven t come out of the closet. I m a mother. I ve been documenting hate crimes in different townships. I m here to say, we need peace. We need peace in our country. I m fighting the hate. These are just some of the remarks made by those marching in support of LGBTQI+ rights.
